A NEW HEADER

March 19, 2011

Welcome to the new header for Spirit Voice. Beautiful isn’t it. It was taken near the Grande Biblioteque in Montreal. I hope to be posting more. I am doing better and look forward to blogging more.

L M MONTGOMERY AND ADULT/CHILD EQUALITY

January 9, 2011

X-mas blogging: I unfortunately did not do as much blogging for christmas as i hoped, but i will blog again next year.

Kindred Spirits
I wanted to touch on the subject of Kindred Spirits today and specifically on the person who popularized the term Lucy Maude Montgomery. I have just finished reading Emily of New Moon, one of my favourite books, and i realized that both the author and i have very similar ideas about the value of children. In both Anne of Green Gables and Emily of New Moon a child comes into adults lives and brings more life and love to them.

Children and Adults are Equals
Children are equals to adults. We are not there betters, we are their helpers and guides and they are love bringer’s and life bringer’s. Adults, i believe, can be friends with their children. It may be a different form from other friendships, but it can be a friendship none the less. Because the author has similar ideas to mine on children i feel even more we are kindred spirits.

I’M BACK FOR X-mas

December 4, 2010

I’m Back
Hi everyone. I’m back for christmas and really hope to keep blogging weekly from this point on.

Carol Covers
This year i thought i would share with you some of my favourite covers for christmas carols-although technically all sung christmas carols could be considered covers what i am referring to here is people who sing well know carols, but play with them in fun musical ways. Listen to the ones i choose and see what you think.

Kendall Payne
My first pick is Kendall Paynes cover of O Come, O Come Emmanuel. It is a funky, wonderful rendition of one of my favourite carols.
